Our Wedding Weekend in West Glacier 🤍

We are so excited to gather our favorite people in beautiful West Glacier, Montana, to celebrate this special weekend together.

We hope this weekend feels like a relaxed getaway in the mountains and a chance to slow down, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy time with one another. While we have a few planned events, there will also be plenty of free time to explore Glacier National Park or simply unwind and take in the scenery, we encourage you to make the weekend your own.

🥾 Friday Adventure

For anyone interested in a little adventure, the bride and groom are planning on hiking the Highline Trail from Logan Pass to the Grinnell Glacier Overlook. At first glance this is 11.8 miles, with an elevation change of 2572. We are expecting this to take about 8-hours with a bit for pictures at the overlook. Any one and everyone is invited and encouraged to come with. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO COMPLETE THE HIKE. Come check out the views from the first mile of the high-line trail and you won't be disappointed! Then, the ranger station at Logan Pass is incredible and there is the hidden lake trail and other incredible spots to see!

Due to parking constraints, we will be in line at park opening (5 am?). Then, it is roughly an hour/45-min drive to Logan Pass. So, we are expecting to start this hike around 6am, and finish around 2pm/3pm.

Once the bride and groom are finished with the hike, they will travel to the lake McDonald Lodge Beach to link up with the wedding party. Rehearsal will be from 4 pm to 7 pm although likely this will be about a half hour. We may grab some UTVs (Utility Terrain Vehicles) for the wedding party to tour the Going-to-the-Sun Road and other places just outside of the park but ultimately join everyone for the welcome dinner around 7:00 at Glacier National Pizza.

If you are interested in joining us on the UTVs this will be an extra cost for those folks who are not immediate family, officiant, photographer or cleared their spot with us. We will get you cost information the week of - I would budget about $100 per person.

Welcome Dinner

We'll kick things off with a Welcome Dinner Friday night at Glacier National Pizza at 7:00 PM with some pizza, introductions, and mingling.

💍 Ceremony

Our wedding ceremony will be on Saturday at 2:00 PM at Lake McDonald Lodge Beach in West Glacier.

A Note About Our Ceremony 💗

Because our ceremony is taking place within Glacier National Park, our permit allows for 30 reserved ceremony participants. We are expecting around 60 guests, but since the ceremony is held in a public area of the park, everyone is welcome to attend and we do not anticipate any issues.

If space becomes limited, we may ask our immediate family to sit or stand closest to the ceremony site, while other guests are invited to gather nearby. Our goal is for everyone to have a wonderful experience, and we appreciate your understanding.

Following the ceremony, our professional photographer will begin taking group photos in the beautiful mountain scenery at approximately 2:30 PM. We look forward to capturing these special moments with all of you!

Reception Dinner 🍽️

Following the ceremony, we'll celebrate together with a reception at the VFW in Kalispell. This is about a 45 min drive from the ceremony and the Bride and Groom will likely be the last to leave the area, taking up the photographers time!

Our cocktail hour therefore will start from about 3:30 to 5 pm. The VFW has affordable drinks and tips go directly to the VFW.

Dinner will feature steaks grilled on-site by our caterer and cooked to each guest's preferred doneness, along with a variety of delicious sides. We can't wait to share a great meal with great people.

Most importantly, please know there is absolutely no pressure around attendance for any part of the weekend. Above all, your presence is a gift, not an expectation. We understand that making the trip to celebrate can involve many considerations, and we are deeply grateful for your love and support in whatever form it comes.

Whether you are able to join us in Montana or will be celebrating from afar, it means so much to us. If you can be there, we will be overjoyed to celebrate together. If not, please know we will feel your well wishes and carry them with us on this special day.

West Glacier is a place that means so much to us, and we're incredibly thankful to share this special chapter with the people who have shaped our lives. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
